Patterning boron nitride nanotubes
The aim of this project is to realise the high quality and large quantity of BNNTs thin film coated on substrates. Different substrates with complicated shapes were successfully coated with BNNTs. The structure and size of the tube can be controlled by different synthesis methods.
Major achievements
An innovative ink and brushing method was created to produce a thin film of BNNTs. It is the first time that large area of high purity of BNNTs was coated on flat substrates as well as complicate-shaped objects.
Future plans and directions
The properties of the BNNTs coating will be investigated in 2009. Following that, related possible applications will be investigated.
